I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has visited the site over the several years it has been up. This website has given us the opportunity to reconnect with friends we made during the time we were on the road, as well as make some new ones from all over the world as far away as Japan!
Right now I am collaborating with a couple of musicians from across the USA on a new project. It has started out well and could reap some new Silver Laughter inspired music. Before going on, let me say how proud I am of what we accomplished by being inducted into the Iowa R&R Hall of Fame for 2014 and of the performance we gave to those hundreds of people who attended the concert. It gave me the bug to write and record again. Unfortunately, it is not so with the rest of the guys, at least not yet! But, of course, the door is always open.
With that said, moving forward, website posts will continue to be about the history of the band, Silver Laughter, as well as any new stories that might surface about them. However, it will also start to feature new music; a continuation of what we started back in 1969 with the founding of the band. It is an exciting time for Silver Laughter fans, as they will get to see the evolution of one of the band’s members.
Out of respect for Silver Laughter, our new offshoot will be called The Silvers. It includes long time friend from TODD Beat Group, (Long) Tom (Silver) Kelley from Wisconsin on guitar and vocals, and new friend and contributor, Ricky Zero, from Atlanta also on guitar and vocals.
The first 5 songs have been laid down in demo form which were written (with some help from Tom and Ricky on cleaning up lyrics) and former Silver Laughter member, Ken Wiles. Some of the lyrics have been posted previously on this site, but Tom and Ricky have assisted me in polishing some of those along with collaborating on some new ones. It is an exciting time for us, and we hope you will have fun with the new music!
