“Hey Jude” was taken from the June 1978 performance of our Tribute to the Beatles in Port Byron. The people in the photo are the same performers on the song; Paul, Ken, Mick and Jon.
I sang lead on this as it was one of the piano songs in the tribute. Ken played bass and sang back-up vocals, Jon on guitar and vocals and Paul on drums and vocals. In my humble opinion, this was one of our best covers of any of the Beatles songs… but I probably say that about all of them, don’t I?
The photo was from the Worthington collection that Art sent me. Once again, we are goofing off for the camera which is probably why it is slightly out of focus. One picture of this pose was used on the “Sailing on Fantasies” insert. The other was with us gone and those two gentlemen in the background still standing there talking. If I remember right we were there during one of the parades… maybe Labor Day 1976? The streets of Worthington were not normally full of trash!
A reminder that I have not been linking the music to the photo so that readers can enlarge the picture and see it better.
