We hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving. It is a time to look back and be grateful. One of my biggest thrills was having our band, Silver Laughter, inducted into the Iowa R&R Association’s Hall of Fame for this year.
I still have unpublished photos from the several days of that event which took place at the end of August over Labor Day weekend. Here are several. I also wish we had more video of our performance, but I am told by IRRMA chiefs that the videos are being turned into CD format and will probably be sold sometime in December here.
This first photo above shows Kim talking about Silver Laughter history at the podium during the Meet and Greet while three of us look on. Jon was outside with his family at the amusement park watching his grand kids have accidents on the go cart freeway! From the left are: Paul, Mark, and Mick.
Photo number two, compliments of Mark Zaputil’s wife, Jean, was taken from stage left showing Silver Laughter on the microphones. From left to right, Mick in front, Mark behind him, Jon on mic, Paul on drums and Kim with harmonica in hand. I can only surmise this was during one of our Beatles tunes from the 25 minute set.
The final picture shows the audience at the induction ceremony at Sami Bedell Center and how many people showed up for the event.
