I will speak for myself, but all those years of playing loud music has taken its toll on my hearing. Because I stood on the right side of the stage (from my perspective looking out at the audience) for most of my Silver Laughter career, I have experienced some hearing loss in my left ear; the one nearest those darn drums and cymbals (love you anyway, Kim and Paul)!
Mom and dad told me “You’ll go deaf listening to all that loud music!” They never said anything about playing it! Funny how the old folks are often right. (Do you hear that, Angela?)
So when Janis talks to me on my left side, I have trouble hearing what she said. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. So what’s my excuse when she’s standing on my right? Um….

Oh, you should try ear plug Mick.
Elisha,
We did try that at one time. However, it made singing on key difficult, so we opted for a better performance over saving our hearing!
