Weird Silver Laughter Happenings

More and more there have been strange Silver Laughter coincidences like last night when I got a note from Becky, a friend from Peoria, who happened to find the site on the Internet. This morning, one of her friends, Sherry, left a comment on the site. It’s great to hear from people all over the country (and the world)!

Anyway, some of you know I play a lot of golf. This morning I suited up at 6:30 and went out to the McInnis Park Golf which is a nice 9 hole par 31 course in San Rafael, CA with four par 4 holes and five par 3 holes. I can get around in a little over an hour, and I get some exercise walking, plus it gives me some practice pitching and putting. This morning there was ice on the ground. Yes, we get ice and frost in winter some mornings. Anyway, I did okay and shot a (6 over) 37 with 6 bogeys and 3 pars. Not bad for me, a 20 handicapper.

A great photo I found of my family at a luau in 2007. From left: Janis, my wife, me in the center and daughter, Angela on the right.

When I came into the club house I was talking with the course pro, Rick, and in walks Del, a fellow I have been seeing out there for years. The subject of Silver Laughter and the website came up, and Del said, “Yes, you told me you played in my home town of Aberdeen, SD at the Zebra club.”

After some thought, I don’t think it was the Zebra, I think it was Hackett’s Hideaway, if memory serves. I checked the list on the back of Art’s brochure and could not find any reference to Aberdeen, so I could be wrong, but I sort of remember going out AFTER playing to the Zebra Club to listen to more live music. I will check with Art “Smart” this week and update this post after we speak.

UPDATE: Hackett’s Hideaway was in Yankton, So I was incorrect in my thinking that was the club we played in Aberdeen.
