Dain’s DIY guitar!
The SILVERS Newsletter August 2026
From Dain: After getting stuck into my new job, and getting over a bout of Covid, I am now in the process of working on songs for which Mick had sent me demos, and a few others that Carl wrote lyrics for. I’ve got a couple of songs of my own that I’ll be getting to soon as well. I also finally got round to working on a DIY guitar project, something I purchased last year, but only got into during a stint of ‘temporary retirement’ (by choice!). It was such a rewarding experience, and I’m stoked that it sounds great! I learnt a lot along the way and am now confidently making little fixes to electronics etc. on other guitars. I’ve attached photos! [note: we only had room for one]
From Mick: See? Dain is still a working musician! Not a whole lot different to say than last month, but I am still working on new music for our next album. Up here in Show Low, Arizona, there has been a lot of lightning and rain (and thunder!), so we’ve had several power outages. Fortunately. They have been late at night, so it didn’t interrupt anything important. Dain and I have been working on several tunes I started, and I know he and Carl have been working on several too. Judging by the new subscribers thanks to Carl and Dain’s “Without You”, we’ll be excited to hear them. Tell them about it, Carl!
From Carl: I’ve been working on some new songs with Dain. We’re both excited about them. Our song writing seems to be getting better and better. I’m also playing gigs in the North Bay Area with some local bands having fun and keeping my chops up. Nice thing about music you can always learn something new and it’s a rewarding experience to continue developing as a player.
