Back on May 2, WOAFM99, hosted by Oliver Sean, featured one of the songs from the new album, “Facing Forward And Looking Back” on Revlis Records, but we hadn’t revealed the lyrics yet. So here they are:
Passing By
(Bedford-Pugh, Orton)
Oh, as I walk along the Riverside today,
Under a golden sunrise that snatches the breath away.
I feel like I could be floating along with the summer airwaves.
A moment of harmony adrift among the haze.
A series of fleeting moments I can barely define.
I feel them all drifting further, as I am passing by.
I can sense something shifting Somewhere out of sight.
I will wear all the words we’ve spoken as armor through the night.
I push my way through static and pass unbroken through stone,
Into rooms that I don’t remember with ghosts I have never known.
A parade of broken whispers, amid a chorus of sighs,
With nothing left to cling to, I’ll keep on passing by.
All that we want is to feel like we’re not alone,
So we try calling out, in voices that ache for home.
A glimmer of fading dreams that I’m so desperate to find,
Through echoes that can’t be disguised, still I go passing by.
A deluge of fading memories under a restless sky,
With nothing best left unspoken, I’ll keep on passing by.
