Friends,
Say, what? An August newsletter released on the 25th?
Dain Says, “My summer started a little early back in April – I went for a visit to my home country (the UK, in case you didn’t realise that I’m a Brit!) and the weather was uncharacteristically gorgeous! I had a wonderful time visiting with my family in Devon (a county in what we call the West Country) and staying in a very nice hotel in Central London (courtesy of my wife’s company). It was a glorious visit – probably the best I’ve had since moving to the US 10 years ago! Playing tourist for a change in my home town of London felt pretty great, and I made sure to see as many wonderful little British pubs as I could, sampling great British ale and food.
“I had another trip for a long weekend in Gualala, up in Northern California, which was glorious – a nice house in the redwoods, with a nice deck overlooking them from which I happily played guitar each morning as I drank my coffee!
“On the music front, I have been working on some demos from Mick and recording demo guitar tracks on my new acoustic-electric guitar – a beautiful Martin D-10 Road Series that plays like a dream!
“I’m really looking forward to working on more music as we head into Fall, and to the band getting into the studio in the next couple of months.”
Carl says, “Beyond playing a lot this summer and practicing there has not been a lot going on with me. You can certainly say I’m eager to hear the new material Mick and Dain are working on and take some time to work out the drum parts. For my ‘outside’ activity I’m playing with a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, a blues band, and a 16 piece Big Band called People of Note that plays big band swing.”
Mick has been using his new studio in Show Low to record until family issues drew him away for 2 weeks and a trip to California. Unfortunately, he came down with Strep and has one more day of antibiotics before he can get back to full energy. But between Dain and myself, we are almost ready to go into the studio with 6 new songs!
Once again we want to thank you all for supporting us by listening to our music!
