The SILVERS belong to several sites that help musicians place their music on playlists or in movies and television shows. Recently the opportunity came up to submit songs for the “Reacher” Netflix series, so Mick and Dain worked on the song “Trouble”. Their first attempt was a little too similar to another song that had already been written for a previous album.
So, after a tweak here and there, it was finished, recorded and finally, submitted. Though it was not chosen by the publisher, it was released as a single and will now be the final song on the “Paper Street” album, which is to be released on Revlis Records August 1, 2024.
Around June 9, “Trouble” was aired on the WOA FM 99 Podcast hosted by friend of The Silvers, Oliver Sean. Here are the lyrics so you can sing along!
Trouble
(Orton, Bedford-Pugh)
No matter where I seem to go now,
No matter what I do or say.
Trouble always seems to find me.
Can’t seem to get out of the way.
Sometimes doing the right thing,
Can make me see what is truly wrong.
Born under a bad sign,
Maybe I – should be moving on.
Seems like danger’s always brewing,
Lots of evil everywhere.
Trouble always seems to find me.
Must be something in the air.
Sometimes doing what’s right’s not easy,
Doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t try.
Now the dark clouds are looming,
Probably means – someone’s going to die.
They’re not sure what to do,
I see it in their eyes,
I’m ready for the fight,
That should be no surprise,
And though I’m up against,
A much, much greater force,
Trouble’s still in my way.
Guitar solo:
Someone’s headed for the graveyard,
Chances are it might be me.
‘Cause trouble always seems to find me.
And death might set me free.
Could this mean that my luck has run out?
Had it my way for such a long time.
Now the road keeps on getting,
Narrower – might run out of time.
They’re not sure what to do,
I see it in their eyes,
I’m ready for the fight,
That should be no surprise,
And though I’m up against,
A much, much greater force,
Trouble’s still in my way.
No matter where I seem to go now,
No matter what I do or say.
Trouble always seems to find me.
Can’t seem to get – out of the way.
Sometimes doing the right thing,
Can make me see what is truly wrong.
Born under a bad sign,
Makes me feel – I should be moving on.
Trouble always finds me.
