Click on the link above to hear this original Orton/Ludtke song from the 1976 “Handle With Care” album by Silver Laughter. To date, this is the only live recording I’ve found of this song in existence. It was written face to face by Jon and me in his parent’s living room when they were still living out on the pony farm.
Singing lead is Mick Orton of The Silvers along with Jon Ludtke double tracking the vocal. Jon does the “round” off the lead in the refrain and Ken Wiles and Paul Staack sing backup harmonies. I still like the song to this very day. Unfortunately, sound man Carl hit the record button a few seconds late, and somehow got the ending of this song to overlap with the beginning of “The Boys Are Back In Town” by Thin Lizzy. The performance was in May of 1977 at “After The Gold Rush” nightclub.
