Click on the link above to hear this snappy version of an original Silver Laughter song. I believe it was written around the time of the first album or maybe even before that.
However, I am pretty sure it was recorded in Steve Elliott’s studio after the band broke up in 1979. Jon is singing lead, and Steve is singing backup harmonies. That’s also Steve’s work on the steel guitar. I do not know who the other musicians are on this recording, but in the attached photo are Kim, Steve, Denny and Jon. As far as I know, this is the only recording in existence of this tune.
UPDATE: As I was listening to the end of the above clip after I had pressed “Publish”, it was clear that Steve sat in on pedal steel with us at the Teen Tent for this selection. That’s Ken saying, “thank you” at the end, so that’s Kim on drums, Mick on bass and Jon and Ken on guitar.
