Silver Laughter’s Gear – Insurance Photos – Part 3

Here is the last of the equipment photos from Carl’s collection. Some of them I do not recognize so they may have been taken when Denny and Steve were still in the group. For example, I do not recall any one of us having a Vox cabinet, but there it is in Photo 9. That’s Ken standing to the right of the drums in Photo 4 and Jon’s Rickenbacker 12 string next to them. I also seem to remember the sound cabinets sometimes sitting high on tables and sometimes hanging from the ceiling…

  1. Jon had a Vox amp and cabinet that he purchased from Mike Stroehle of the Night People.

  2. I thought I had left a comment earlier on Jon’s post above. Mike Stroehle is Jon and Kim’s cousin who played in a group that was famous around the Quad Cities in the 1960’s, The Night People. I wrote a little about them in an earlier post. They are still playing with Mike’s younger brother, (also Jon and Kim’s cousin) Jimmy Stroehle, on drums to replace Richard Colignon. He played drums for them back in the Draught House days.
