I had forgotten that right after the success of “Saturday Night Fever” Robert Stigwood released the very popular “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” movie which featured the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton going up against the bad guys, Aerosmith.
George Burns narrated it and the Beatles songs were used to further the plot. It’s been a long time since I have seen this film, but I do have some fond memories of it.
Timely as ever, Art “Smart” promoted our Beatles Tribute to capitalize on the success of Stigwood’s efforts. In the brochure Art also talks about how we (mostly Jon) scoured the Midwest looking for material to use for the films and slides that played on the screens behind us. Jon spent many hours editing the films, carefully splicing the pieces together into film cartridges that were loaded onto the projector.
