Silver Laughter Antics – Seldom Told Stories

We used to party with the owners of the clubs after hours. This almost always involved a lot of drinking. Sometimes we would stay after, drink, then drive to the next job. It’s a wonder we didn’t hurt ourselves or anyone else, for that matter.

One night, I think it was cold, and we were in a hurry to get to our next town. We hurriedly loaded the equipment into our trailer. I am almost positive we had a few drinks behind us.

As we drove off onto the highway, I saw the trailer rolling parallel with my van that was supposed to be pulling it. Apparently, I forgot to flip down the hitch lock so when we hit a bump, the tongue came off the ball and started its own travel plan. Nothing was damaged, and fortunately, there wasn’t any traffic on the road. It could have been disastrous, but I am thinking we probably were all laughing like idiots over that incident.
