Silver Laughter Does Boz Scaggs

Silver Laughter 1978 – Jon, Ken, Paul and Mick

Jon sang lead on this Boz Scaggs tune which is culled from our Port Byron sessions back in 1978. I posted it in February of 2013 but wanted to bring it to the top again. We learned it in an attempt to get some influences from groups than the Beatles. However, the Beatles Tribute made us unique so that we could keep playing during the late ’70’s when disco was on an upward surge.

“Lido Shuffle” happened to be one of those songs that crossed over from hard rock to disco so it was a good choice for us since it covered two genres. After all, we had to learn a few disco songs to keep playing when a lot of clubs were dropping live bands and going to disc jockeys and strobe lights! Although we did learn a few disco songs that we probably otherwise wouldn’t have, this was one that was at least from a real rock artist.

The photo is another from the 1978 Rock Island session. It looks like Art caught me yawning!
