“If I Fell” – “I Should Have Known Better”

In our Beatles Tribute #2 (this one recorded at the Ranch and Co. in Port Byron) we left “A Hard Day’s Night” and went right into “If I Fell” followed by “I Should Have Known Better”. Because of the energy of the two songs surrounding it, I believe we played “If I Fell” WAY too fast, though it does hold up when I listen back. The second song rolled into “I Feel Fine” so the note you are hearing is Ken going into the opening riff.

Last week I watched the movie “A Hard Day’s Night” for fun and enjoyed seeing the Beatles perform these songs “live” at the end of the film in a kind of medley format; much like we chose to do them. I think (and I could be wrong on this) Jon played the 12 string lead on “I Should Have Known Better” but it was Ken who did the little George “dance” during the solo during our performance.
